2010-2011 After School Care Registration is CLOSED, we have a few spaces but are limited on what schools. Please contact the branch for availability or to get your child's name on the waiting list.
Cost is $171 per month for members and $258 per month for non-members. Fees are based on number of days in school and divided over a ten month period. Payments are made August through May. A 30 day cancellation is required.
We will pick up from the following schools:

The Birmingham YMCA is dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable child care. Well-trained staff provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial aid available. Staff members are partners with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong.
After School care children are split by age K and 1st grade, 2nd-4th grade, and 5th grade and up.
The children will have a healthy snack, a devotion, 30 minute gym class, 30 minute program time and a 30 minute homework time daily. The children will be offered pizzed every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month and will have the opportunity to swim every Friday. A variety of additional add on activities are available. Our staff will be able to take the children to and from any additional programming that takes place at the YMCA. These activities include:
Art Classes on Tuesdays beginning August 31st.
"Arts & Crafts for your crafty kid"
We will be doing things like: canvas painting, wearable art, drawing lessons, wood projects, seasonal art, and much more...join artist Vallie Pate on Tuesday at 4:00pm for a one hour art class, cost is $55 per month. Contact Vallie to register contact Vallie Pate [valliepate@everydayartist.net].
Karate Monday and Wednesday 345-445 pm. Offered by Oak Mt Martial Arts. Cost $42 per month.
Chess Club $20 per semester. Classes on Fridays beginning September 3rd. Age 5-7 345-430, Age 8 and UP 430-515.

Kids Fun Days
Kids Fun Days are held on days the children are off of school. Fun Days are open beginning at 7pm (car pool on the gym side and end at 6pm (also car pool on the gym side). Schedules for field trips will be posted as soon as they are available. Your child should bring lunch and two snacks unless otherwise noted. Please make sure they wear tennis shoes.
Cost 27/40 with a $5 field trip fee.
